Samsung UN32EH5000 May be Slightly Overpriced

Samsung UN32EH5000 May be Slightly Overpriced

Samsung UN32EH5000
The Samsung 32” LED/LCD 1080p HDTV Model UN32EH5000 can be found for as little as $380 via Amazon but normally retails for around $450 elsewhere. For a 32” LED/LCD this may seem quite pricy, without any major frills to shout home about. You do get LED Edge Backlighting and the Samsung UN32EH5000 does contain a Clear Motion Rate (CMR) of 120, which doubles that of its predecessor, the EH4000. This is excellent news if you happen to like watching sports but was not enough to prevent jerkiness or judder when the camera moved from side to side. Once again, an elegant design from Samsung with its typical slim bezel frame coloured black. No swivel is possible but you can forgive Samsung for this, owing to its featherweight 14.6lbs, which makes maneuvering the set a cinch. Other features include the Wide Colour Enhancer Plus, which allows vibrant colour display within the RGB field and the ConnectShare Movie, which provides you with the option to view films and photos and listen to music all in one location through the USB port.  The Samsung UN32EH5000 dimensions are 29.1” x 19.6” x 7.5” with stand.

Colour Rating Decent But Could be Better

Colours on the Samsung UN32EH5000 may be regarded as rather solid, with a hint of over-saturation. Still, in terms of brightness the EH5000 does not perform all that great and returns a slightly dim picture, even when the Backlight is tuned to max. This type of saturation seems to be en mode with today’s TV companies but the settings of the EH5000 could be adjusted to crank it back a notch. Black levels on Samsung 2012 models continue to improve compared to the previous year.

Beware of Alien Parts Inside Your EH5000

Believe it or not Samsung have assembled TV units, including the Samsung UN32EH5000, with parts from other competitors, such as Sharp! In fact Samsung use no less than 4 separate manufacturers for their panels. There is a way of deciphering all the codes you find inscribed on your set and we suggest you click here for further information if you find yourself in serious doubt.

Tweaking Your Box Isn’t Everybody’s Cup of Tea

One irritating aspect of the Samsung UN32EH5000 is that you have to spend a fair bit of time playing with the settings in order to get any picture or sound which is even close to normal. As everyone has their different ideas and notions as to what their preferences are we suggest you visit Samsung’s official site to download their user guide here.

Overview of Reviews Online

Browsing through Samsung UN32EH5000 Amazon reviews we can find great feedback for both picture quality and sound from watching films via Blu-ray and playing games via Xbox. Gamers seem to have taken a liking to the Samsung UN32EH5000 for this reason, with even the PS3 games proving to perform admirably. Sound quality was a slight cause for concern, with the speakers shouting out for something better equipped. When audio output was set to movie or music the overall sound was more tasteful to the eardrums but standard seemed a tad too drab.
The reflective screen which Samsung have taken so close to their heart is evident even in the Samsung UN32EH5000 and the fact that you can actually see your reflection in the mirror is quite scary because that generally means that any form of light, whether natural or artificial would interact negatively with the set when watching TV or films. Still, a solid purchase when taking all factors into consideration!
